Just Your Hand To Hold

I saw that smile you gave to her
Warm and inviting like a summer evening
But my days have begun to shorten
And the truth is beginning to tarnish
I remember the special look you used to give
But I haven’t seen that smile in such a long time
Please don’t do this to me again
For I won’t be able to rescue myself this time
My wings were burned many seasons ago
With three simple words whispered by you
~
I would give the moon to just have your hand to hold
Let us meet in our secret garden and forget the world
But the shadows of night are creeping ever closer
And the lark sets flight against the scarlet sky
~
I saw that smile you gave to her
I remember when you showed me the same
But I haven’t seen that smile in such a long time
Please don’t do this to me again
My strength is trembling, I cannot hold on forever
I would give the world to just have your hand to hold
But I haven’t seen your smile, in such a long time
Now that we are over, your smile is but a memory
Living is simply existing in a world without you
