Scarlet Dreams

Watch the blood red sun
sink slowly down
scarlet rays shoot to the heavens
as angry clouds consume the vibrant light
the last speck of color is snuffed out
dying in a red bloodbath

Twilight softly creeps upon the horizon
navy blue galaxy
twinkling flashes of crystal
catch a falling star
make a wish
begin to dream

A ghost of a whisper coming with the night
shut the window close the curtains
can you still hear it?

muddled black streaks down your face
you can't escape it

Unseen venom

dreams evolve into nightmares
sleep flees from your eyes
whisper in your ear

Misunderstood quiet
pull back the curtains open the window
let the ghost out into the coming dawn
