Breath When There Is No Air Left

When the world is cracking and shattering around your deaf ears
Pull me close, let the truth cut your lips to bloody ribbons
Breath in the air and exhale smoke,
grasp my fingers before you falter
Call on the spirits of this hell,
hope for something that never existed
Slow down, watch your dreams drift far beyond your fingertips
Hold me tightly when your prayers continue to go unanswered
When the end comes, remember that I am
a simple human breathing in smoke
But never forget those three special words
cutting my heart to ribbons
Whispered upon your deaf ears
amongst this cracking and shattering world
Breath when there is no air left, let me go
when there is nothing left to believe in
As your body crumbles, look upon your dead savior, and never forget
This is but a story waiting to be written,
my heart is a simple organ made for living
As bloody lips collide, as the world shatters around deaf ears,
here we are, entwined
